In the heart of lockdown the charity ‘Heroes’ was founded with a mission to support the NHS frontline. The charity provides innovative tech solutions to the NHS like the 3D PPE printing hub.
Heroes and the NHS were doing their bit, but we needed to encourage the general public to do their bit and stick to the lockdown rules.
With the creative production industry grinding to a halt and photography studios closed we knew there was a wealth of untapped talent with time on their hands, so we put out the call for help. 26 award winning portrait photographers answered our call.
The challenge was to glorify domestic acts as legendary heroic triumphs that help to save lives and protect the NHS.
The photographers could only use the resources in their locked down homes. So flatmates and family members became models, make-up artists and stylists were dialled in to consult, art directors and tech assistants advised via Zoom, handfuls of self-raising flour replaced professional atmospheric hazers. Some photographers even used remote controlled cameras operating in their assistant’s homes the other side of the world!
We launched the images on social and caught the attention of the national media.
Then our STAY HOME campaign went OUT OF HOME in 100 cities across the UK, all thanks to a media owner who loved our Lyrca flexing heroes!
We spread lockdown awareness and led by example, all while raising money for the charity ‘Heroes’
Everybody donated their time for free in an epic effort that inspired the nation in the middle of a crisis.
It just goes to show that a lockdown can't keep creative talent down.
A media owner liked the campaign so much, they gave us free digital media in 100 cities for two weeks.
Campaign did a special feature on our campaign that cost us £0 to make and disseminate across the UK
Our meme like images flooded social media, spreading the message and raising ‘Heroes charity’s’ profile.
